BIOS

BIOS is a concept album by my vaporwave pseudonym Lay Jeno.

Two posters of the Dreamcast orange/white and PlayStation 2 blue/black version of the BIOS album cover.

What does it mean to die well? The album is reflection of reading How to Die, a collection of writings and letters by Seneca.

The artwork is a representation of blocks of data (memories). The sole text “BIOS” distorted and streched like the music. I also created alternate color version for each console used: Sega Saturn, Sony PlayStation 1 and 2, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo GameCube, and the Microsoft XBox.

Two posters of the main purple/cream and XBox black/green version of the BIOS album cover. Arranged into a group of four.

I took the start up sounds of older consoles and stretched them to extreme lengths of time. An auditory representation of, “life flashing before your eyes.” BIOS can be found and listened to on Bandcamp.
